Arty Photo

The Maxis Building as peeped at from Suria KLCC
Some people scorn at photos that are merely beautiful. They want to see photos with more emotion involved or photos that evoke certain memory or feelings or that can move or touch them emotionally or spiritually. Art to me is very subjective and isn't art itself is about beauty?? Maybe some people just purposely try to complicate the simple...

I have one photo here which receives very good ratings from the e-photozine members as well as favourable ratings from photo.net members. What do you all think about this photo?

Super shot....love the light and what it's done!! Mon 28-Jun-2004 22:13

Last weekend while driving my family around KL, all of a sudden I felt like visiting the National Monument. Nothing much has changed since I last went there more than a decade ago......

The National Monument was built to commemorate our valiant soldiers who sacrificed their lives to fight for our beloved country Malaysia.

To them I salute ....

Baru je lalu Lenggong hari minggu lalu. Tak berhenti utk amik gambar sbb dah penat sgt. Tue 15-Jun-2004 03:45

It has been quite some time since I updated my photos here. Since I am still from the old school of analogue photography uploading photos is understandably a long process. Browsing through my old files of photos in my PC I stumbled upon a few ones that I deem suitable to be displayed here. The latest ones are still left undeveloped.

I will soon come up with fresh photos, I promise you.

My hometown, Besut

I was born and brought up in Besut, Terengganu. Besut has a couple of tourist attraction places especially its island i.e Perhentian Island. Besides Perhentian Island which is known worldwide, its beaches are splendidly picturesque with white pristine sand and deep blue sea. Besut is also known as Terengganu’s rice pot as most of the padi planting activities of Terengganu are done here in Besut.

Fresh fish are also easily available in Besut since Kuala Besut is one of biggest fishing port at which the fishermen land their daily catch. The fishing port complex is provided by LKIM.

I promise you I will come up with more pictures of my hometown once I go back again. For now do enjoy the existing ones....

Advanced Image/Samsung Colour Of Your Life Contest Winner

I am glad to share this good news with all of you that my photo entitled "My son Danial" was chosen as one of the 3 winners in Samsung Colour of Your Life photo contest organized by Advanced Images Photography magazine (The Malaysian local photography magazine) and Samsung Prime Color Film.

The winning photo is as above. The colour and tone are not that good in digitized format resulting from the compromised quality of my office scanner which I scanned direct from the print.

.

Congratulations! It's a fantastic photo!! Fri 28-May-2004 18:08

Kelana Jaya

I live in Kelana Jaya at the moment. Kelana Jaya becomes well known for its Kompleks Haji, Wisma FAM and Stadium Petaling Jaya which is the home ground of the last year's Malaysia Cup winner MPPJ team. You might have heard of those places in the news.

However there is another place which is given less publicity but pretty popular among the Kelana Jaya residents i.e. Kelana Jaya Lake Garden. Perhaps it is not as beautiful and popular as Taiping Lake Garden but it is the good place to jog and exercise with family and if you are lucky enough you will stumble on this beautiful sunset scene (provided you bring along your camera).

Very neat, especially # 2! Fri 28-May-2004 18:09

Putrajaya - latest photos

Ministry of Finance Building, Putrajaya
The Putra Mosque and Putra Perdana Building
The Putra Mosque and Putra Perdana Building
I visit Putrajaya pretty frequently seeking good photo opportunity. You never know you might stumble upon one of the best scene with perfect sky and lighting.....it is a matter of timing and luck actually. Another reason is because logistically it is quite convenient to go there since I live in Kelana Jaya.

So these 2 are my latest images of Putrajaya which I got around to doing some editing. I am not fond of computer graphic manipulation. I will try to present my scanned photos as similar as possible to the original slides although you can never make it look identical to the original slides. I will normally adjust level for contrast and brightness, curve for colour balance, saturation, Unsharp mask and cropping if necessary.

Very very very nice shots!
u are doing a good job.. do you like taking shots of clouds? And do you see colourful clouds in KL often?
